The iHome iH26S lets you listen to your music while charging your iPod and iPod shuffle simultaneously by docking them in the portable alarm clock station. The alarm clock station features a portable, low-profile design that can easily go anywhere you do, and an auxiliary line-in jack with a patch cord for hooking up other MP3 players or audio devices. This unit wakes you up to your own gently increasing music, unless none is detected from your iPod in which case a buzzer will sound, and features an alarm reset function that shuts off the alarm while automatically resetting it for the same time the following day. When i first open the box I was like wow it’s small and so cool looking. I got it up and running in minutes and the alarm clock to. But once i played some songs there was like a rumbling sound. I thought it was the ipod connection so i plugged it into the inout cable it came with. Still no difference. So basically there may be a low rumbling sound in your system. Don’t worry you are not alone! The point is GET IT!

I wanted a travel alarm that would dock with my iPod. That is what I got. Everything works as it claims. Although everything is functioning, I get the feeling that this device probably won’t last. The construction seems a bit suspect. For a hundred bucks I hoped for a bit of quality construction.
That being said, I am still glad I bought it.

My friend seems to really enjoy this product that I got him for his birthday. He had been looking for something like it for a while for his nano and this seems to be what he wanted. The only thing that we did not like was the fact that one of the fittings for the different size ipods did not fit for the nano.

For the price of this product it isn’t that bad of a buy, however there are a few draw backs. First, the speaker quality is bad if you like to bump the bass- you must turn on the Bass Reducer on your Ipod so the sound isn’t crap. It doesn’t get loud enough to party around, but it’s good for cooking or to have in the bathroom. Second, the fitting for the new Ipod nano doesn’t work. I ended up carving out the right side a little to fit my nano.
The portability is nice, especially with the fold down speakers.

The sound is ok, it’s about what you would expect from tiny speakers, but still better than my old clock radio. The biggest advantage is obviously that it plays my music, instead of listening to mindless am radio.
The downside is that it’s a little difficult to set it to play the correct playlist in the morning. It’s like you have to play it at night, then stop it in mid-play so will resume for your morning alarm. I’ve also had it play random selections for my alarm. All-in-all, a good investment, no major complaints.
