- Remote Control Included – The JBL On Stage III IR remote has several modes of operation. The music mode allows you to control the volume, change tracks, fast forward and fast reverse. The navigation mode allows you to access menus on your iPod just as if you were controlling the unit itself. You can search your music, watch your slideshows, and find and play your videos.
- Battery or A/C Powered – The system uses six AA batteries and allows up to 12 hours of continuous play at normal listeing levels. An amber LED flashes when the battery protection circuit senses that the batteries are low. The system also operates of a standard wall outlet using the included power supply and cord.

I needed to replace my travel ipod speakers; liked the size and the fact that it would work as well with my iPhone 3G.
Like all JBL speakers I have owned the sound is good, not great. great bass and great treble performance, but in between a bit skinny.
Who came up with grey print on the black remote???? It’s impossible to use it at night – even in bright light it is so difficult to make out the icons to operate the ipod from a far.
A more simple remote with less buttons would have been so much better. Volume, skip forward/back / mute / on-off would be all that’s needed. If you sit that close to your ipod to see which level of the menu you are navigating you don’t need a remote, unless I am missing something here (maybe a pair of opera glasses…)
